Penelope Dullaghan Share Sketches about Human Encroachment on the Environment

Zócalo The Public Square asked Penelope Dullaghan to do a few pieces for their Sketchbook series. They said Penelope could do something personal if she’d like to, and of course Penelope said heck yes.

Penelope goes on to explain. “Three things figured into my thinking for this little series: 1) The river behind my house that inspires me every day. 2) The playing I've been doing lately with printmaking, cut paper and paint. And 3) All the animal documentaries I've been watching with my kiddo ... all saying the same thing - animals are in danger largely because of humans”.

So Penelope created these five pieces to show human encroachment on the environment. Houses and houses and houses. Penelope adds, “It was an interesting series to create for me - a bit of a different look, and I am full of gratitude to Stefan G. Bucher for the invitation!”
