Selling Your Clients on Illustration

Getting a client to see your vision is an art form unto itself. It can be extra tricky to get them to buy off on a piece of art that doesn’t even exist yet!

But bear with us. You can do this. It’s been done before.

In fact, a lot of the same points that convinced you to go this route may well work on them: They’re getting something unique that nobody else has, they get the opportunity to help shape the vision from the outset, and in the end you get to know you *created* something, not just chose it.

Oh, and have you tried style boards? They’re indispensable for outlining a direction beforehand. Very reassuring. Clients love reassuring. And those style boards tend to be followed up by sketches that extra-affirm everything’s on track. Clients love that, too.
