Panera Bread was looking to freshen up their in-store cafe decor with a gallery direction theme of the world's largest collection of bread artwork. The in-house design group in charge needed to put together an impressive presentation of original artwork with a broad range of styles in a very short time. After explaining the theme and audience to Scott Hull, he put out a call to his talented associates. The resulting imagery made for a presentation that wowed the client and was readily available for reproduction and mass application to customize each cafe.
by Larry Moore I just returned from a painting event at the historic and prestigious Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia. This is one of 8 paintings I created during the week. An interior with a young lady reading. It was created on site with the permission of the hotel and the original now hangs in their gallery.
We're super pleased to share that Larry Moore's painting "Kuba Kuba" was honored at Paint Richmond. Larry has, for several years now, participated in plein air painting events around the country. Basically, a plein air painting event is a gallery or museum show where artists come with blank canvases and create an exhibit by the end of the week.
For the last 3 decades I've dedicated myself to the world of visual thinking. You could call it commerical art, illustration, illustration design, or just plain art. Now I'm seeing an opportunity in the creative era to bridge the gap between art and commerce by asking the question, "When I say the word illustration, what one word comes to mind?"
