Lorraine Tuson
Artist info:
Born in Canada, Lorraine Tuson spent her youth in England returning to North America at the age of eighteen. In pursuing her career, Lorraine discovered two callings, illustration and design. While studying illustration, she found her passion for design, and worked as an art director and designer for seven years. Illustration was never far from her mind and her heart though, and she returned to her first-love of illustration with new skills and enthusiasm. Lorraine feels that “a sense of design is important in my visual solutions.” Lorraine uses a mixed media mostly made up of collage and layers. Her work reflects her constant exploring of different materials and textures, and she has designed hats, made jewelry, and studied bookbinding. In describing her process, Lorraine says that, “surface play is important as well as overall design, and there is an inherent element of surprise in the way I work that keeps it fresh and exciting to me.” Lorraine’s work exceeds client expectations as each piece reflects her commitment to high standards and shines with her innovative abilities. Lorraine loves to work on projects that challenge and inspire. Clients include Forbes, The Washington Post, Ford Motor Company, Delta Airlines, and the Detroit Zoo. Her work can be seen in Print, Communication Arts, and Applied Arts Magazine. She recently won best of show in the Dayton Advertising Club Addy Awards Competition.
