Artist info:
Larry Moore is passionate about surfing, traveling, and his work. He began drawing and painting at the age of seven encouraged by a family of artists. His skills as a problem solver and conceptual thinker were honed in the eight years he spent in advertising and design. Larry says that “my time is split between commercial art and fine art. My paintings are created on site, en plein air, and it too is a form of problem solving. I consider it to be the marathon version of studio painting, working against time and the elements to create a solid piece of art. There is no greater pleasure for me than to be out in a field surrounded by nature and struggling to capture my feelings and observations on canvas.” Whether Larry is painting wine glasses and architecture or working on the award winning posters he creates for the Opera, he infuses his work with a love for storytelling. He especially enjoys ”capturing the heart of a story with one powerful image.” Larry’s client list is impressive and includes Anheiser-Busch, Busch Gardens, Disneyland, Eli Lily, Pepsi, Putnam-Berkely Publishing, Sea World, Scholastic, SmithKline Beecham, and Xerox. His extensive awards and accomplishments thus far in 2001 include Communication Arts Annual, Print Regional Design Annual (two awards), Society of Illustrators (three awards), and two Golds from the National Addy Awards. Larry majored in Graphic Design at the University of Florida with a minor in Fine Art.
