Team Draw!

July 18, 2007

It’s time!

We call it TEAM DRAW… and it’s fun!

Gather ’round youngsters and oldsters alike and celebrate the wonderful thing that is spontaneous group sketchbook filling! No level of artistic skill is necessary for this event, you just need a few simple drawing tools and some free time on the last Sunday of every month…This month’s Team Draw session is on the 29th of July, and we decided to push it back to 2pm for weather reasons (things tend to be a bit sunnier later in the day)…and because often times we might just be entering the world of reality-based consciousness at 11:45am…and that makes it hard to draw. So…bring a sketchbook (a blank one if you have it) and pass it around, then grab someone else’s book and go to town! With markers I mean, or with pencils I mean…or with a fountain pen full of diet soda…we don’t really care what you draw with, just come and enjoy the weather, the atmosphere, and the inevitable laughter that will follow once these books start to get filled with weirdness! Just look for a group of people with sketchbooks in Dolores Park on or around 2pm…this event will usually last for a couple of hours, but it really is not set to a specific time…we just play it by ear. We usually station ourselves a few yards from the big green dumpster thing by the middle walkway. Hope to see some of you there! Another post regarding this event can be found on my buddy David Kasprzak’s website Young Tompkins.

Cheers,
