Artist: Eberbach

Art directing herself, Andrea Eberbach illustrated the touching and powerful poetry for the book, “The Reconfigured Goddess”. Andrea says that in order to effectively and sensitively, visually convey what Bonnie Maurer’s poems were communicating, she just “sat with the poems…the words…and let the images emerge organically.” At times she illustrated abstractly and figuratively, other times she used actual images from the poems in her art to help ground the emotional strength and visceral place she felt Bonnie must have been in while writing through her battle with cancer. Andrea blended and layered different aspects of her pieces to create the exquisite unified whole.
The book has many facets and many layers of emotional depth that Andrea’s delicate touch and understanding intuition brought completely to life.

To showcase AMACO (American Art Clay Company) as the “One Stop Shop” for ceramic art materials in schools, Vice President Dawn Sandoe searched for an artist that could combine actual AMACO products within a classroom situation while remaining visually interesting, fun, and inviting. AMACO, along with Brent Pottery Wheels and Equipment, needed to blend multiple brand identities into a singular “brand” via a larger, unifying, visual narrative. And once again, Andrea Eberbach was to be the creative hands through which they projected their companies important new imaging. Andrea has worked with them before on projects for print ads, postcards, packaging, cover art, and tradeshow murals.
Since Andrea’s target audience was art teachers, she used a bold, graphic, colorful approach. She felt that this style would be eye-catching and memorable. Dawn tells us that Andrea received a very positive response from distributors, sales force and art teachers, being heralded as the, “best cover ever”. There was also an increase in on-line requests for catalogs since her artwork appeared, adding 500 new requests per month.
Dawn goes on to say, “Because AMACO competes against different competitors in all of our product lines, we needed someone like Andrea Eberbach, who can create a holistic visual narrative that can unify our product lines in a charming and friendly fashion. This will transform our weakness in the marketplace to our strength. Andrea is easy to work with because she is dedicated to understanding the complexities of her clients’ needs and meets deadlines. She thinks ‘outside the box’ to land needed concepts straight into center. Andrea has an uncanny ability to read clients, so that she can deliver visual solutions regardless of hurdles or personalities involved with each project. I have also hired Andrea for other clients with the same amazing success!”
