Mark Riedy + Hasbro

January 21, 2009

When Hasbro asked Mark Riedy to redesign the boxes for their classic board games, “Sorry”, “Scrabble”, and “Monopoly”, Mark Riedy accessed the retro side of his creativity to produce images that were seamlessly classic and nostalgically appealing. Tapping into that older vein of the 60s sensibility, the boxes alone conjure feelings of reflection and playfulness, notwithstanding the games themselves. That ability was a big part of why Mark landed the project, as Art Director Nan Finkenaur explained: “We did not hire Mark based on a specific sample or style in his portfolio, but rather on his overall sense of color and design.”
