The Trigger Award: Quarter One 2008
June 6, 2007
Officially designated to recognize clients who have had “exceptional success in achieving their objectives through use of original illustration,” Scott Hull Associates’ latest accolade not only acknowledges the universal craving for results, it *celebrates* it.
There’s nothing wrong with getting results – in fact, it can be a lot of fun. This is the idea behind the Trigger Award.
The following have proven themselves to have not only brought success to our clients, but to propel their product to surprising levels of success.
1. Frank Best International, with Illustrator Mark Riedy.
Project: “13 things” Ad for Honda.
Client: Honda Engines
Associate Creative Director: John Cate

From the Client: “Our relationships with Mark Riedy and Scott Hull were integral to the success of the campaign in not only the realistic illustrative style achieved but also the selling of the campaign to Honda Engines. Original photography and intensive post production work would have made the campaign too costly to produce.”
2. Townsend Communications with Illustrator John Maggard:
Project: 2007 Engineering Calendar
Client: Haywood Baker
Creative Director: Daniel Townsend

From the Client: “We have been working with John Maggard and Scott Hull for many years with great success. This particular illustration has generated many referrals to our firm. It is seen worldwide in the engineering field. Additional requests for calendars between this year and last was more than 5,000! They continue to receive the highest readership surveys in Engineering News Record, and have grown to be the largest Geotechnical Engineering group in North America and are considered the one-to-call for geotechnical issues.”
3. Graphica, with Illustrators Penelope Dullaghan, Larry Moore, Curtis Parker, and Lorraine Tuson.
Project: Series of Triad Stage Posters
Designers: Jay Jung and Cathleen Dunevant
Creative Director: Rich Whittington

From the client: “Triad Stage, an alternative community theater and another Scott Hull Associates client, has seen average attendance increase 23% overall since the 2003 season. They attribute the jump to the “Broadway-quality poster artwork” they now place throughout the city.”
Winners can expect to receive their custome designed Trigger Award certificate in the following weeks. Congratulations to our winners, and thanks to all participants. Make sure you don’t miss out on the next Trigger Award competition, once again celebrating our clients’ success!
